Thank you. Have always enjoyed the sound of Maggies, but worried about them working in my room. Turns out they do very well and continue to sound a bit better each day.

Congrats Glenn, those are very cool speakers. But I thought you were downsizing[emoji2957]

These weigh less than the Devores.
Seriously, I figure this year (or whatever time it takes us to get moved) is my last chance to own Maggies, so was "now or never".

I continue to be pleased and sometimes "shocked" at how good my LRS+ sound. They play especially nicely with my CJ Classic 62SE which is now getting closer to being broken-in. Even though my room is small, Glenn's got me thinking of auditioning a pair of 1.7i's.

I've had Maggies in one iteration or another for many years and there's simply something very special about them for my wife and me. In some ways we enjoy them more than the Sonus Faber Guarneri Homage.

Yes. I've listened to friend's Maggies for years, but never had the 'courage' to move away from box-speakers. The immediacy of their presentation is very life-like. I'll eventually give the 1.7x a listen. My dealer tells me he is happy to trade my 1.7i towards the 1.7x. Now that I know how well a dipole speaker works in my room I'll not be so shy.

I had a chance to listen to Magnepan 2.7i over the weekend. I was quite impressed.

Eventually I'll have to give the 2.7i/x a listen. A shop in MD has both, as well as the 1.7x to audition.
Has anyone used the crossover upgrade from GR Research with their Maggies? They receive good reviews from users.

Added a 10" sub to the mix. Even in its "sub-optimum" position (behind the bananas ) it immediately provides more depth & dimension to the sound-stage without overwhelming anything. Once its had a week to break-in, will get it into a "better place" and start the optimization process. Fortunately, there is a TAS review of adding this sub to a system that provides good starting info.

Glenn, what is the sub that you added? I am curious as I have used and have REL subs that in my opinion mate well with planar speakers.
