Hmm, agreed, there must be some coloration in Q series, as Q1, Q3, Q5 are all sound different. If there is zero coloration, all should sound the same, right?

Hope to have Q3 to compare with my Sophia 3 with real world electronics soon.
Will report back.

TOGA, you are doing it right - actually listening to each in your own room with your own gear.

I believe system synergy, amidst the myriad other of variables - to include one's listening preferences, plays a very major role in what one hears. And I, by no means, have a golden ear. I did, however, get a rare chance to hear the Magico Q3s (mated with Macintosh tube gear) and Wilson Sophia 2s (mated with Esoteric gear). The Q3s were awesome. Completely awesome. I heard everything. I mean I heard everything!! Now under most circumstances, I look to hear everything. But in this scenario, the Q3s gave me too much of everything. I really wanted to like the Q3s, but they were mercilessly detailed. At moderate listening volumes, it was too much for my ears to bear. The Sophias were also detailed. However, the Sophias were musical. Instead of critiquing the speakers, the Sophias let me simply enjoy the music. My vote goes to Wilson.

Moving from a pair of Sasha's to Magico Q3's are not an upgrade. After listening to them for an extended period of time, my observation was that they do an excellent job in the mids & high frequencies. They also are great in imaging & retrieval of low level detail. However, it bass is nothing to write home about. Also considering the price, it does not seem like a great value. I'll take he Sasha's any day of the week & twice on Sunday.

I have heard the Magicos in some shows and at a dealer. They are really good but not really my cup of tee.I can understand that some people like them though.

But I really love my Sophia 3.They are incredible speakers and I am even happier now that I after much hesitation choosed them. For me they are fabulous!

They are sympathetic speakers! If You can call a speaker that. They do not need power plants to get to life. They can integrate well in smaller rooms. But best of all is that it is so fun to listen to music on them.Everything gets intresting when listening on a pair of Wilsons.A dynamic and organic sound that I am growing moore found of every time I listening on them.I do not even care what tweeter they use, just because it is that good and I cant see the point to improve it.

So I am very pleased and are going to be content with my Sophias.I am sure that the bigger Wilsons can be even better. But why dream of them, when I already have such good speakers?Sometime the grass isnt greener on the other side.

Best Regards
