Sal, I heard the Aerials and the Dali's. The Dali's, to my ears and in that setup, had better high frequency extension and sparkle. If Ivan thinks the Cantons sound better than the Dali's, that's a strong endorsement. All of these speakers look gorgeous to me and the two I heard sounded great. Sounds like the Cantons are a steal.

I took on the Canton line simply based on Esoteric's high praise; and the fact they Demo their Grandioso gear with them. I did not Demo them in advance of my decision.

That was a strong endorsement, and has proven to be spot on. These will be fabulous selling speakers at this price point, and well beyond.

Aside from the sound (most important) I especially like quite a lot about them.

Their packaging is flawless.
The tuning capability on the back is a great feature.
The Piano Black Gloss finish is the best I have ever seen.
The loudspeaker base with integrated Bass-Guide® provides superb Bass
The styling, and low center of gravity makes for a very stable floor stander.
The ceramic-tungsten membrane of the speaker elements compliments Silver components very nicely.

How would you characterize their sound profile compared to some of the other lines you carry or have carried like SF, TAD, Aerial, Dali etc. Nothing wrong with my Nola's but they do have me intrigued.

Jack... speakers are very subjective, and everyone hears different. Therefore, we all have our favorites, and opinions. Here is mine;

TAD CE-1's are completely outgunned by the K3's and for substantially less money. The CR-1's are more than 3 times the cost and sound amazing; a crowd pleaser for sure.

I still own Aerial 7T's and 20T's, I already expressed my listening preference against the flagship 20T's.

The Dali's are extremely good at their retail price point of $20k but once again, I prefer the more natural sound, and wider sound stage already present in the Canton's.

Right now IMHO SF has nothing even close to compete with the K3's at this price point. My Strads are Awesome, again at 3 times the cost.

For me, an audiophile and dealer the Canton K3's possess remarkable sound quality, and value. It is especially convenient when being able to compare different brands like these side by side.

I now have 5 different brand speakers in this Grandioso room for direct comparisons.

Thanks Ivan. My personal tastes run more to the SF, Vandersteen, Nola side as opposed to the Raidho, Magico, Wilson and TAD voicing currently favored my the "Big Name" reviewers like Valin, Fremer, Harley and Fritz so it sounds like the Canton's might be something I would like. I'll try to see if there is anyone anywhere close to me that carries them for a listen. Will probably have to e-mail Minnesota as their website is of no help for dealer locations only the regional distributors.

It's really great than you find a product like this. I haven't heard the Conton but I can imagine what you mean.

I had a similar experience lately. Another speaker that I think is capable of doing this good performance in it's price range and beyond is Dynaudio Contour 60. This is for me a new standard in the price/performance race. Maybe this Canton and Dynaudio could be competitors?
