Without glue, I'd be way too afraid that the magnet would somehow be sucked into a driver rather than to one of the speaker cabinet magnets; the neodymium magnets in the drivers are incredibly strong for their size.

A question about Giya grills. I just got my new Giyas and I was surprised to find that the edges of the grills are rather sharp (like if you made a straight cut across chicken wire). I need to use the grills to save drivers from kids fingers. My concern is that someone could brush up against the grills, dislodge them, and scrape the sharp protruding bits along the speaker. I think AA member, Giya owner Bart had this happen with cleaning lady. So I was thinking about dipping the ends of these in "liquid tape" to coat them. Or I could try and file them down. Anyone try anything else or have an idea what would and would not work?

The magnets that hold the grilles on aren't incredibly strong, so I'd worry that liquid tape might be too much of a coating to allow them to be secure.

Yes, the grille material is steel that is just cut without any real attempt to smooth the edges.

To be honest, should the grilles come loose, they're probably going to dent a cone on the way off (ask me how I know. )
