Just did. No mention of McIntosh.

2014 January | Hifi Pig

EDIT: It's back up now. Hopefully McIntosh will issue a press release soon. Need more details!

Lose the 50W output stage on the MHA100. Reduce the footprint accordingly, and I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Mc prices in Belgium are rather inflated...but if the sound is as spectacular as reported, why not...however, I would expect it to be less expensive because of a smaller BOM. Small changes in US price are amplified by the time Mc products show up in Belgian showrooms. My issues with the MHA100 are twofold. It is not a dedicated headphone amp, regardless of questionable marketing, paying for something you don't need rubs me the wrong way. Secondly, it is just too big.
... But thank you for asking

It's like that everywhere else in the world. It's most affordable in USA being the country of origin isn't it?

There are other costs involved for international units, and it would be right if mcintosh trusted their distributors around the world to price them appropriately.

At 6500 Dollars the MB100 is absolutly useless. Purchase a new Olive HD at 500 with 1 tb harddrive and connect it to a D100 (1800 used) and you have full proof system with specs that in no way will be beeten by the MB100.
What I dont get is that were into 10 yrs of computer digital audio and a simple file (music) server with output connection to a DAC of your choice should cost 3000-10000 dollars providing NO added audio performance. Thanks the Olive One and similar products are coming out that support .. flac maybe dsd and digital out with a simply hard drive and a iphone/ipad option based user interface for less than 500.

The other integrated product.. I liked and I owned the MXA60 till last week and it sounded beautiful. They needed a similar product with a digital imput minus the cost of the tuner and sacd. They prob didnt need the 75 w/channel to drive the speakers hence the drop to 50 w/channel. Unfortunate they got rid of the tube preamp though.

I told my contact at Mc this. Us headphone enthusiasts don't want and don't want to pay for an amp to power speakers. We will NEVER use it. I say bring the cost down to $2.5K and rip the amp out and they'll have a winner. I hope they will listen. Mc should have a few HP guys to beta test this thing. I'm doing a beta test for one very known company who's getting into HP market and they will hit a home run with their amp and HP. We still have three or more months to go before releasing so there is still time for improvements.

Why does it display "McIntosh" under the logo?
