Sky blue, Terry, Jim, thank you. I'm really looking forward to them. I'll report back after they are broken in. Joey

My 802 Diamonds have about 5 hours on them, the bass is extremely light, so much when I demoed it to the family, they asked if the bass needed to be turned up.
Highs and mids sound good, the bottom end is really missing.

Since the port is down firing, you can place very close to the wall without making the bass muddy. You may want to play with the placement. How far apart are they, and how far from the walls?

They are 2m apart and towed in, about 25cm from back wall.

Are you running them full range or crossed over to a sub? I find the degree of bass we like is such a personal preference so you may find you need a sub or better a pair of subs to compliment the low end. For most music I found my 802's did a splendid job in the bass department when running full range. |

1. position the speakers so they are facing each other, ideally 1/2 inch from each other. 2. on one of the speakers remove the right channel speaker wire and place it on the left side and the left on the right side. 3.start to increase the volume level until it is at a level that would be loud if you were in the room. 4. since one speaker is out of phase it is cancelling the loudness of the other so it will not be loud as normal, you will barely here it playing if set-up correctly. 5. cover the speakers with a soft thin blanket. 6. let them play music at this level for 4 hours, turn the volume down and stop the music say for 1/2 hour, then start the process again, this time play the speakers at the high volume level for 5 hours, bring down the volume for 1/2 hr., then let them play through the night with the volume maybe a little lower than during the day and give them a break the next morning. 7. repeat this process for the first 100 hours. There are 24 hrs in a day it will take you 4 to 5 days to do this. You can play continuously over the weekend and adjusting the loudness at certain times. I would make sure to be around during this process. If someone moves one speaker it can be loud in the house. 8. check your electronic to make sure everything is working fine and not warming up 9. you need to know at what numeric setting on you preamp the volume is loud and the bass is good, this is what you shoot for on the burn in. Try it you maybe surprised by the results. Last edited by Indytown; 08-12-2015 at 10:46 AM. |

Find a dealer that will let you demo some different types of cables and varying thickness/geometry. |

A quality jumper with a quality speaker cable will work well also. Just get the correct thickness and geometry for the long run. |
