I assume you've done it...share with me ie. with us
Any other suggestions you may have ?

One time I was told, and diligently listened and followed with slapping a famous 'STP' sticker on the back of my 911 in order to improve the acceleration...but the sticker I got was Made in China, obviously with a cheap glue...and even before I hit 3rd gear (about sweet 4.4k rpm)....it flew off...could not actually determine the IMPACT of this famous sticker on the improved acceleration

I have not done it. I am asking you the question.

I have direct experience with other equipment and other fuses which are covered in a thread on this forum.

My suggestion remains the same - conduct an experiment and report here on your findings.

I can’t speak for Fuse changes for Bryston products as I have not done so yet. I did however changed the fuses in my PS Audio BHK Preamp and the mains on my 300 mono blocks, and my Aurender N100H with Synergistic Research Quantum Blue fuses. Each time there was a noticeable improvement in every way.

Give it a try. SR offers a 30 day return policy. I’ll bet you don’t send it back and even if you do there’s nothing gained and nothing lost.

Fuses are there as a safety device--If current exceeds spec, it can damage components. I don't think it's a good idea to change fuses to one which allows more current. Do these aftermarket fuses blow when they're supposed to?

I think one guy did a study and determined that these fuses can wreck your system. Would it still be covered under warranty?

Paul-

Do you know if the BDA 3 has 1 or 2 fuses?
I have also been wondering if one can mix and match fuses depending on the component.
For example, high test on the power amps and a mid level on the components.

John,

2 fuses are inside the BDA-3.

I understand that you never tried aftermarket audio grade fuses yourself. Not that I was skeptical about those tweaks at first, but I didn’t believe the difference in sonic would be as large at what I experienced in my amplifier when I changed the fuses. At first I installed all 8 audiolink brand and I was astonished at the difference I heard. While it was significantly different, it turned out that I was not pleased with the leaner presentation. I reinstalled the stock fuses but ordered a synergistic blue for the main. With only this one, my amplifier kept the same sonic Signature but improved upon it. So my findings, not only a fuse has an influence on actual sound, but different brand/model have a different sonic. As strange as it is, the sonic jump in performance by changing the fuses could be as significant as a power cord upgrade, and even more. I suggest you try for yourself before calling out those who actually tried them with great results.

And oh, my real name is in my signature...

Hi John.....I will only be replacing 1 of the fuses. 1 fuse is for the mains (the one I'm replacing) and the other is the standby fuse. The mains fuse is the one closest to the end of the circuit board.

There are many users reporting on their first-hand experiences with audiophile fuses and I've never seen anyone claim this result.
