Default Nicks Kitchen Nightmare Is Over

After 14 weeks without a kitchen, its finally finished!

see previous thread for the old kitchen: https://www.audioaficionado.org/show...149#post863149

Living in the Garage over a very cold Auckland winter made the experience a miserable one.

We love the new kitchen, its easy to clean & we have room to actually cook & prep food - something the previous kitchen didn't allow for (Im not kidding).

Our house is about half the size of Ivan's listening room. So our kitchen is very small. We wanted a functional kitchen, as we both love to cook, and modern- with a high end apartment feel- which I think we were successful in achieving.

We had a few quotes, & choose to go with Kitchen Mania- a company with a good reputation in Auckland.

NB: Photos are side on- I dont know how to rotate them :-(

The Jarrah wood floors are fantastic & a real feature- all brand new Bosch appliances. One thing we did insist on was a external fan (last photo for the hob extractor system, so when switched on you didn't get the noise like a jet engine- highly recommended. Also recommend the corner 'Mondo Unit' which maximizes the spaces in the corner of a kitchen.

If any AA members are in NZ for a holiday, please drop me a line & we can meet for a listening session & a few bottles of NZ wine.

Congrats! It looks very European.

Plus, I saw a cat [emoji192] enjoying time outside.

Thats our old cat 'Poppy'. Shes going a bit senile in her old age- thinks she owns the place. The new grey chairs is her new favourite place to sleep- which she does for 22 hours a day.

Photo is of Luke & Poppy on Guy Fawkes Day in the new kitchen.

Nick,
Congratulations on the new kitchen! I like it. Looks like you're ready for some serious cooking and fine meals. Enjoy!

Nick - congrats on the completion -- I recall your initial post a few months ago -- here's the link for those interested in what you started with.

Looks very nice: sophisticated, convenient, and very efficient use of space.
