Genesis 5.3
I was wondering if anyone has listen to or has an opinion on the Genesis 5.3 speaker. As far as being dipolar, ribbon tweeter, titanium/aluminum mid drivers and power sub. The Inner Ear Magazine - Discover High End

Dipolar ribbon speakers are usually winners, but I'm prejudiced!
In addition, the servo bass amplifier system the Genesis systems uses results in a very tight well controlled bass response. The woofers have accelerometers to monitor their response to the amplifier signal being fed to them to insure the woofer's response is in fact what the amplifier signal is telling it to do. This minimizes ringing and also makes for a flat response. Last edited by GaryProtein; 05-19-2012 at 08:06 PM. |

I've listened to the Genesis 5.3. Neutral. Accurate. I would go for the 2.2jr or older gs300 if you can fit them into your room (size). The 5.3's out perform anything under the $100,000 and under range. This is no exaggeration. Infinity RS1b or 2b would be a cheaper alternative. 5.3's tweaters & x-overs are bening upgraded. The owner & engineer, Gary Koh is very personable & is always more than happy to talk to you individually.

I'm looking forward to the 5.4 when it eventually comes out. I've heard a few people say the original Genesis Five was the one to own, but Gary may have sorted the new design by now. The Gen V had advantages like an outboard 800 watt servo amp and very good internal cabinet design & can be found these days for a bargain.
