I should add, that I do like the subs except for a simple display light.
To me it shows that velodyne overlooks the simple things and obvious.

I own a Velodyne SPL-1200R. very happy with it- blends in effortlessly with my Sonus Fabers. Looking to buy a second but new model released SPL-1200Ultra. Specis similar so may purchase one to add to my existing R.

Offerred a Theil SS3 at a bargin price, but too skint. Sigh- only 10 weeks to go & mortgage paid off then can spend some real $ on up-dating my system

I can not comment on there subs. but there DD18 has always been given praise. I can say that there sub EQ is excellent. I was looking at how my system has progressed in the last 6 years and I came across this. I was able to get this sub curve with a pair of 12" ported outlaw subs and no frequency boost.

The dip after the crossover point is mostly due to the mains were not up to snuff in that area, but they sure work great as my surrounds now.

I just ordered a pair of DD10 PLUS models. They just came out and I got a very nice deal thru a friend that carries them.
I'll let you know how they work

Is the "PLUS" version the same as mkII? My dealer recommends the DD mkII over JL Fathom.

Tommy.......What size Velodyne Digital Drive subwoofer are you considering? They range from 10" to 18". Does your dealer also sell JL Audio subs?

I'm looking into a pair of 10 or probably 12 because I read 2 smaller subs are better than 1 bigger sub.

My dealer also sells the JL Audio. He said the new DD performs and integrates better with speakers due to its very advanced DSP. I was a little surprised to hear this because most users on this site seem to prefer the JL Audio over the old DD.

Maybe Ivan can let us know since he is a dealer for both JL Audio and Velodyne?

Found a cool video on the DD+. The new DD+ uses Rohacell for the woofer, just like in the B&W 800 series.
