Do you have a picture? I'm curious to see what these things look like.

I'm also intrigued by subs like the B&W DB1 and Magico QSub-15/18 with the opposing drivers.

Omerta, I am eagerly following your journey with the seatons. I have one fathom and an earthquake supernova 15. The supernova is a beast for home theater, but not as musical as the jl. I had considered adding another f113 (even looked at your posting), but am intrigued at the seatons as an option that would work for home theater and music.

I do not have a pic at the moment. I made a 3min vid to show a friend what they look like. The clip had nothing to do with sound quality or excursion, just a visual. By no means demo music. [ame]http://youtu.be/QNPZh-NWG-4[/ame]

They blend (visually) really well with your 800's. Its nice to see a video anyway, I really got a feel for your room. Very nice.

The more time I spend with the submersives the more I wonder if I need the other 2. I want the other pair but it is not as apparently necessary as it was with the previous subs in the room. These are surprisingly good! They have that kind of bass that goes from quiet to startling and makes you smile because you cant believe it just scared you.

Compared to the fathoms, do they lack anything (speed, timing, musicality/etc)?

compared to the fathoms these are tighter but maybe hitting lower because they seem to have more impact. For music I prefer the F2. For movies it is a toss up depending on what you like, they are both extremely good, the F113 being a little looser sounding so fun for movies. When I say loose I do not mean it in a negative way, I do not find the F113 to be a loose sounding sub at all, it is just in comparison. The whole reason why is because I had the F113 around 12" closer to the wall for output reasons. If I move the submersive as close to the wall as the JL it will have the same looser sounding results. To answer your question musically the F2 does not lack anything to the F113. As far as movies the F2 is hitting me almost as hard as the F113 did in a room 1/4 the size. The F2 will still need the other pair to pressurize the new room equally as the F113 did in there previous space but the initial pulse is very close and makes me very happy with the direction I am going.

My brother has a pair of F113. He had only listened to the submersive 2 times.... The 2 times he was over to help me bring my F113 to fedex. The second time he listened he was ready to put his subs up for sale.

This is great feedback. Food for thought.

I emailed mark seaton to get some idea on pricing and his view of my room (which is fairly large).
