Bah!

Congrats! I put myself on their email notification three times & even exchanged emails with someone at Oppo in early August. They said they'd have more available at the end of August/early September. From what I've heard? That batch was completed, emails went out, and I STILL didn't win the OPPO lottery.

I'm sorry to hear that. I don't know how Oppo is prioritizing the notices. I was very early in getting my name on the list as soon as they announced it.

Does anyone know if they are doing another production run?

I got a preproduction Pioneer UBP-LX500 And from a sound quality perspective, they have a winner on their hands.

The AKM4490 is just a much more organic sounding DAC. nice transients and detail.

Downsides - no DAC inputs, no XLR outputs and I expect no Roon endpoint. I’ll see if I can see it as a DLNA. I only used it as a disc player the whole of the day so far.

I'm looking forward to the Pioneer UBP-LX800 that will be revealed very soon....
It's going to be the audiophile version, I believe.

I had re-emailed Oppo immediately after replying to this thread the other day & their response was to keep up hope and be patient.

Received an order link this morning & sent it in! Yay!!!

Lucky you!
I wrote them Aug 22 and they told me to pound sand in a nice way.
I just wrote them again and asked if any more are available as I need one for my new Sony 900F 65 in 4K

I was enjoying Netflix, when at 8:30 PM my bandwidth took a dump.
I have ATT fastest service available for my location, which is the 50 Mbps. While reliable, it does get slowed down often.
They are putting fiber optic in our neighborhood but slowly as the rock underneath is very difficult to dig thru.
Just wonder if the future is streaming, but the service is subject to spurts and stoppages. There is not a single time that I am watching where it does not stop, interrupts or something happens. Very infuriating!

That is my concern and experience with streaming and not owning my own content,I am at the mercy of the unreliable .

Ugh! Sure understand your frustration! I put my name on a waiting list in May... and that bunch got sold out. I put my name on the list again in late June/July, and that bunch sold out. Put my name in again in late August... saw those were shipped & gone, and wrote again.

Here's hoping you CAN get yours! Lots of people will pony up alternatives, but I don't know of anything now, or coming soon that has 4k video AND XLR/balanced stereo out. Honestly? My biggest issue is the balanced out.
