Quantum Base QV2 AC Line Harmonizer

Actually tempted to swap out my Shunyata Hydra Cyclops for Nordost Quantum Resonant Technology power conditioners!

I use two Nordost QV2 AC Line Harmonizer on my system.

I made my first trials with one QV2 relying on Nordost’s reputation and then bought a second one. Globally, they bring a wider soundstage and more micro dynamic to the music. I never tried a third one but I can say the use of two QV2 is better than only one on my system. The effects are somewhat cumulative : one near the CD player (Classe CDP 100) and one near the preamplifier (ARC LS17SE). If I had only one, I would plug it near the CD player.

I have been using them for several months now. Five days ago, I unplugged them to listen to the music without these devices and I found the music “flatter” and less involving. So, I put them back !

As for HRS products, the great thing is that we can quickly try different and easily reversible configurations and choose the one we prefer.

For the Nordost QV2 with a Schuko connector, we may take care to the way we plug the Nordost QV2 in order to respect the Line and the Neutral poles.

I asked to Nordost's Technical Support, if it was necessary to respect the Line/Neutral polarities and they answered that the QV2 does not require a polarized connectivity to properly function.

So I tried both ways and slightly preferred the properly polarized connection.

I will be very happy to know what you think about your QV2 units in your systems. I don’t think they need any burning time before being optimal.

It is not easy to find technical information on how the QV2 AC Line Harmonizer works. As far as I understood, its function is to produce a range of pulsed high frequencies which occur on the sine wave to each peak and trough cycle, so that the transformers of the electronic devices are getting stimulated and therefore react.

With the QV2 having a grounding blade for the 120 volt version there will be no way to use it other than the polarity designed into the device for the U.S.A. market. Are you using a version other than the 120 volt version pictured?

Thank you for your welcome ! Yes, I use a 240 V Schuko version of the QV2 AC Line Harmonizer.
