I'm more curious than really looking at the moment
A few months ago, I took a decision to move to WW for 2 main reasons; firstly the obvious overall enthusiasm for the brand round here, but also because the WW Electra's offered the same Ohno copper as I already loved with another brand of mains cord I was using (a UK based operation, MCRUS). However, no matter how great they sounded, they were inflexible affairs, and thus the appeal of WW Electra's.

I have no regrets at all, despite the Electra's being a considerably cheaper cord (In UK money, £750 v £250 ) - the flexibility is indeed excellent, and they sound wonderful, if I had to pick just one word it would be *Natural*. I use a 2m length to my power strip, then all 1.5m (a compromise between the magic 2m and my finances!!) from strip to components. Do I spend any time wondering if it would have sounded better if they were all 2m cords....nope! In fact, a few nights ago, I swapped the more expensive MCRUS cord back to the power strip, and although yes, there was a touch more detail it came at the expense of listener fatigue, not great, but the WW Electra went straight back in & won't be moving!

At the back of my memory I also recall a Nordost review in HIFI+ in which the reviewer briefly mentioned being told by Nordost that 2m was the optimum length for their pc's too, but I have to admit I rather put that one down to the prevalence of *cut n shut* 1m Valhalla's that were popping up on Fleabay at that time!! The fact the editor of said mag now works for Nordost didn't help this opinion.....

I had a couple of WW Silver Electra's in 1m length and replaced them with the 2m length to my amps. I didn't think I would hear an improvement but I did.

So for WW, 2m is really the way to go and avoid anything shorter even if it costs less.

Wondering if anyone thinks 1+ meters into high quality power strip/conditioner then the balance of the 2m (ie, a 1m cable) from the strip to the component would cover the issue. All my cables are shorter than the 1.8m recommended by LAT international (cf. their website) or the 2m by wireworld. I have had good results with a 1M Electra as the wall to conditioner cord. It will soon being going to my DAC as I have ordered a 2 M larger gauge pc. Many companies --more than 50% that I've seen-- speak of noise/sound conditioning properties of their pc's. LAT makes a blanket statement that all power cables "regardless of manufacturer" should be at least 1.8M. I would propose that the recommended length, if covered by 2 of the same or similar quality cables would satisfy the 1.8/2.0 rule in debate (?)
