Awesome Joe. Are you firmly in the tube camp? Even old HP said tubes are best....

I have always loved tubes. I could handle changing 4 little tubes every year on the preamp. Going through several sets a year on a power amp is another story. I would need to modify my listening habits. I don't listen like most people. I am almost always playing something. Either streaming or swapping cds. I just love it.

So does it make the Burmesters sing on the TADs?

Yes. It's the best preamp for my 911's and TADs so far. It really brings out the best in them. The bass output is incredible.

It really is something if it can drive the 911s and do it beautifully!

Now you have to compare the VAC on the 911 vs XA100.5 vs NHB-108...fun times ahead.

Joe,
Really pleaesed it's worked out so well for you...looking forward to see how it matches up with the Dart compared to the 911s.

I've been amazed at how well the VAC has worked with the 911's. I can not wait to hook up the Dart and even try the XA100's for the fun of it. I think tonight I will experiment.

Stephen,

The GAT still holds a place in my heart, but this VAC has been an immediate, transformational improvement. I'll report on the Dart/XA100.5 synergy in due time. I am fully enjoying the VAC/911 combo.
