I JUST went through experiencing break-in on a new Bryston amp. I almost cried the first day I put it in. 20-30 hours seemed to help significantly, and after about 100 hours, I felt it was what the demo amp I heard sounded like.
From what little I know and have read, electronics benefit from an on/off break-in, whereas speakers can maybe just have a continuous "on" break-in. I tried to run it for several hours on, and then off for several hours. Your mileage may vary though. - Garrett

Started out kinda flat/dull. Poor sound stage/imaging. About mid-way though it was a bit bright, but the imaging had improved a lot.

I would say the 2.5 is neutral sound wise. It let's the speaker be what it is. No coloration. I have better clarity and detail w/my music. I listened to a Grant Green album W/Bobby Hutchinson on Vibes and the top end detail and sparkle that was missing in the past was there. You can play music at low late night levels and the detail is there. Don't be fooled by the 135wpc power. There is plenty of muscle to drive a variety of speakers. Not much is said about the 2.5 but it is a gem. The best amp I have had in my system period.
