Thanks, that's comforting to know. I would hate to spend anywhere from $75-$150 a fuse and have to replace it in a year or 2. My PS Audio BHK mono blocks alone have a total of 12 fuses.

By the time the fuse degrades your hearing will have deteriorated to the point that you won't notice it.

Good one, and most likely true.

Careful...that way lies the dark side...

My MC 601’s came with Hi-Fi tuning mains fuses. I swapped them out with high quality Bussman Ceramic fuses and could not hear any difference at all. Nada. Zip. Zero. Since I had zero invested in these little guys I don’t think I was biased one way or another.

I never really cozied up to the sound of the MC 601’s and sold them along with the hi-fi tuning fuses.

Fast forward to today, there are certainly valid reasons why a better fuse would sound better so I may have to give it another try.

Tom

Default Fuse Testing

Hey Tom (W9TR) - perhaps this has been beaten up already - but do any of these high-end fuses go through any performance/compliance testing?
For the curious, I attach a data sheet for a Schurter ceramic fuse.

Thoughts?

Thanks! I had to readjust - European report, so the comma is a decimal point in the US.

Also keep in mind that performance/compliance testing is of greater importance in applications such as automotive, medical and avionics.
