Default Need Help: How to update firmware for a Bryston BDA-3 DAC

Hi, guys.

I'd like to update the firmware on my Bryston BDA-3 DAC and I have no idea how to do it.

I read about a web user interface, but I need help getting that going.

Can someone please walk me through it and/or post a link/pdf with instructions?

Thanks

Here is my experience with firmware updates.
Older units (or manufacturers that are slow adapting to new technology) you typically use a computer and download the firmware to a USB thumb drive. Then you insert that USB drive in the USB input of the unit.
Next you follow whatever directions the manufacturer gives you.

Newer units allow you to connect directly to the internet via Ethernet or Wi-Fi. They tell you if an update is available and then you follow directions.

Good thing that you don’t own a McIntosh. I hear that quite often you have to take the unit to the dealer for that. Some manufacturers are farther ahead (or behind) than others...

Hi Carlos - On the Bryston website you can access the manual for the BDA-3 DAC. It explains the process for Network Access via Ethernet connection on page 11 and the firmware update process via its web interface on page 12. Hope this helps!

My gosh! No wonder he is asking for help. That has to be one of the most obscure directions I have ever seen. Bryston goes back next to the last in line for that. The last in line is still MC. [emoji17]

I finally did the firmware update and it seemed to work just fine. I used the web-based user interface and once it got going it was easy to do. Thanks for the help.

Not sure yet, but the Corelli I'm playing right now does sound full, detailed and lush.

At least I'm glad the DAC is running on the latest firmware available from Bryston.
