The Network Audio Streamer hasbeen reviewed in Stereophile (Marantz Reference NA-11S1 Network Audio Player/DAC | Stereophile.com). The deal killer for me is that it won't play AIFF or 192kHz ALAC and I've spent countless hours downloading my CD collection to my hard drives in AIFF format, not to mention the hi res files I've purchased from HD Tracks. Nice avatar, Dude!

I am hoping the next version of SA-11 will have an upgraded USB input that can decode hi-rez, AIFF and FLAC. Then I could live without the Network thing.

If i recall correctly, it will play those formats through the USB DAC on the back of the unit, just not from the front USB port and not from the network connection. But the USB input on the back works with all formats, from my reading.

I envision the dealers of this brand would have a clue? Anyone talk to a dealer lately?

I just picked up the NA11S1 and although I have my collection as AIFF files, it works well feeding my Mac Mini to the back via USB. So while the network capabilities are being ignored, I still find it an absolute wonderful DAC. I actually preferred it to a MSB Analog DAC with its regular power supply. Seemed to have more details without sounding etchy or fatiguing.

How does it compare to your MCD-500?

I haven't seen much activity in the Marantz thread lately. But I did notice there is a nice Marantz PM-11S2 integrated amp in the marketplace.
