I had the option to buy the REF 150, but chose the 210 with factory fitted Kt120 for a little bit more $$. I also thought that the 210 with Kt120 has a bit warmer sound than the 110 with 6550s, but did not have the chance to compare it with the 150 in the same system.

My decision was swayed by the extra 100 watts that the 210 offered.. I still hope that once the 210 breaks in it should sound fuller.

The REF 5 SE, on the other hand, is undoutedly a great preamp. I will be pairing it soon with a solid state Coda 15.0 Class A amp. With an EAR source, this may make a good system. My speakers are the Legacy Whisper XD, which do allow a bit of tweaking thru its processor..
