Ahhhhaaaa!!! Considering your buff circuit boards together with Kal's affirmation regarding new production SE builds I rather suspected this scenario to be the case.
VP, are you still evaluating? and we're therefore sent demo stock, rebuilt with an SE kit, Or were the units purchased by you, as new, and therefore should be sporting green boards? A mystery yet. Last edited by Harlequin; 11-08-2015 at 10:25 AM. |

I have bought new Amps and should get new green boards. I am not evaluating now as I need to return the current Amps.

I am wondering whether any REF250 owners have indulged in tube rolling the regulator 6550's in their amps? I have worked my way through the various 6550 options with my previous REF5se however the topology of my previous REF150 obviously precluded such nefarious activities.

I just got my amps and listening g to the first song now. . They came with green boards. The problem I see is that the wires which pass from between the tubes is touching one of the tubes and already melted . The amp I returned had the same issue and it melted the wire and exposed the copper cable. I just adjusted it for now but over the period, it will touch the tubes again.
Any suggestions? |
