Red Light on Inside of MC462 (Bottom Right underside Illuminating Shelf in Red)
Anyone notice a red light on illuminating their shelf in a red glow on the right bottom side of their MC462?
When I am listening at night in the dark I notice through the bottom vents of the unit on the right side as if you are looking directly at it from sitting position that there is a red light illuminating the bottom of my shelf. The red light is on inside the amplifier. Is this red light normal and supposed to be on? Last edited by ps7256; 09-21-2018 at 01:26 AM. |

Several equipment nowadays use LED's as regulators or supply confirmation. My Manley pre has internal LED's lit even on s/by.I tend to notice them when I shut down the room at night. Kinda cool too.

Thanks AudioGremlin. Just heard back from McIntosh, they said it was exactly what you indicated, an LED to indicate function, in this case the trigger cable from C47 to Amplifier is sending a signal when enabled by switch at back of Amplifier.
