Default Following Roon's "Suggestions"

Instead of just browsing my music looking for something to play during our states "shutdown" period I thought I would see how much new music or artists I might come across my taking Roon's "Recommended for You" suggestions.

I started off with one of their suggestions from a few weeks ago Gregory Alan Isakov.

Based on that I am now playing the recommendation:

Paper Kites - On The Train Ride Home.

Lets see where this all leads.

Well The Paper Kites album was good. Roon suggested I try.

Lera Lynn - Plays Well With Others

The first few tracks on this one are leaving me wanting. Might have to try another of their suggestions.

So far today 1 good 1 poor.

From the Lera Lynn album the next suggestion was:

Doug Paisley - Starter Home

This one is a bit more Americana or country tinged but very listenable.

The next Roon suggestion based on the Paisley album is another artist I have never heard of. Simone Felice. Apparently he is a member of a group called the Felice Brothers but this is a solo album from 2018.

Simone Felice - Projector

So far a few good tracks on this one. It will get a complete listen.

Their suggestions functionality is fantastic. It's one of the biggest reasons to choose Roon over other player software.

I tried that feature when I first signed up with Roon and at the time I did not feel that it was very refined. I know that they have made several upgrades to the function since I first tried it. Will have to try it again. Thanks for sharing.

They seem to have improved the algorithm used to generate suggestions. All recent suggestions seem to make sense based on my original selection. Even if every track is not something I enjoy they a least make sense.

The Simone Felice album led to a another new for me artist.

Sons of Bill - Oh God Ma'am

This one is very Americana. So far it is catching my attention.

I think we have similar tastes, I'll definitely try some of these later!

From the very listenable Sons of Bill the next two suggestions from Roon don't seem to tickle my fancy. The two suggestions were.

Parker Milsap's - Other Arrangments
This moved away from Americana to a soulful Rock.

After a few tracks I tried their other selection which was
(Robin) Bennet (Danny) Wilson (Tony) Poole - Bennet Wilson Poole
This one was a bit Southern Rock.

So I am backing up a few albums to try one off the alternatives since these two just weren't to my liking.

Back when I find something.
