Default Polarity switch vs phase invert

I finally connected my C3850 and A200. Since I'm using a Modwright OPPO, the hot is 2 and cold is 3. Should I use phase invert on the preamp or polarity switch at the back of the power amp? Are they the same?

I sent Mr. Suzuki an email regarding this as well. But want to know what other users think.

TommyC.......Since the Modwright Oppo will feed the Accuphase C3850, I would use the Phase Selector switch on the preamplifier. This inverts pins 2 and 3 at the input and will match the Oppo balanced output. I would leave the balanced pin configuration as factory configured with pin 2 cold and pin 3 hot between the preamp and the amplifier.

The Modwright Oppo doesn't have the option to invert the XLR polarity? In the normal Oppo 105 is in the menu.

I tried the OPPO XLR polarity switch and got no sound. Very strange.

Mr. Suzuki said Phase Invert is effective in both RCA and XLR whereas polarity switch only affects XLR.

Tommy.......Well that changes the picture. Looks like the Polarity switch is what you need to adjust to for the pin configuration difference.

That is what I ended up using.
