Huge soundstaging, precise imaging, dynamic bass slammerama. They just sound right. They do not overload the bass in my well trapped modest sized room. I suspect the front bass port helps in that regard. The W/P 8's could overload a bit with it's rear port and my necessity to keep them relatively close to the rear wall.
Great to hear...looking forward to seeing the pics. You must be cranked!

Ah, I missed that you were not a subscriber. Please consider doing so - there are many benefits. And we are dying to see the pics.

My room is only 15x20 with a high ceiling sloping from 9 to 14 feet high. I am quite certain that no other speakers could sound as good in this room, except maybe the new XLFs.

They do not overpower the room at all, unless I really crank it, which of course has to be done from time to time like when playing Quadrophenia or Beethoven's 9th (just as examples). Even then they don't overpower the room so much as really bring the music to life, the way it should be experienced. Other speakers just can't get there.
I keep following these Alexandria and Maxx 3 threads with envy for their owners. It seems from photos on the internet that half the owners have these beasts 2ft from the front wall and 1ft from the side wall and toed in about 45%. It must be an amazing speaker to be so flexible and sound so good. I've never listen to Wilson but what I've read it's house sound may be up my alley. I might have to make the 4 hr ride to Paragon in 2013 for a listen. I wonder if Wilson would work with MSB gear.

John

Alexandria X2's should work nicely in your room. You would be surprised at how close you are able to fix your seating position. If I remember correctly Wilson suggests about a 1.1 to 1.2 distance as compared to the width between the speakers. Your dealer will then adjust the 2 midrange and 1 tweeter unit for the distance you have chosen.

There is no doubt that these or any large speaker can overload a mid-size room. So you always have to consider how loud you intend on listening. That has never been an issue for me.
