Default P500 compared to new amps

Was wondering if anyone has had a chance to compare the p500 to newer amps
I tried out a p500 and was very impressed
I tried it out against my Mc150 and Goldmund and my tube amps and was moved to buy it
But it was sold by the time I went back

I will put the McIntosh mc150 , Luxman lx360 , other tube amps and some speakers on consignment. And he knows I am on the lookout for an Accuphase. There is an Accuphase demo party coming up next weekend so hopefully someone will trade in

And I tried out the new E-470 and A70 really liked both
The new preamp in the e470 is great , i tried older E series and a C260 and was not so excited by , but the new preamp really shines

Thanks

Robert

Rvl, the older Accuphase amps sound fuller than the new ones. Which presentation one likes is a matter of taste. Some find the sound of the older amps natural, musical and relaxing, while other find it slow and coloured. Similarly, some find the sound of the new amps thin and lacking musicality, while other find it very transparent and fast but without loos in musicality.

Two older power amps that are very well respected are P-650 and A-60.

Rvl, I have just started a thread about Accuphase shops in Tokyo/Akihabara. Since you are living in Japan, I hope you would not mind looking at this thread and make me a recommendation. Thanks! Paul
