Default JVC Announces 4K2K Home Cinema Projector

JVC Announces 4K2K Home Cinema Projector Home Theater News SXRD-HD-ILA Front Projector News Written by AVRev.com Friday, 11 September 2009

The DLA-RS4000, JVC’s top of the line in luxury home projectors, ships this October at a suggested sale price of $175,000. ISF and THX certified, the DLA-RS4000 utilize a trio of 4K2K D-ILA devices to provide an impressive 10 megapixel image at a 4,096 x 2,400 resolution. For those keeping score, that’s four times the resolution of 1080p.
In fact, the DLA-RS4000 is able to display four separate 1080p images at once. That means four system linked Xbox 360s or PS3s at once, or one screen for each of four simultaneous football games. A Xenon lamp provides 3500 ANSI lumens and features adjustable lamp power for various settings. Wire Grid polarizers in the optical engine help to eliminate light leakage and a unique liquid crystal orientation give the DLA-RS4000 a native contrast ratio of 10,000:1.

Video processing, signal switching, and scaling are handled by the RSVP4 video processing unit, which also features audio delay compensation and three separate gamma tables. A special feature of the RSVP4 allows certified specialists to calibrate a pair of custom gamut memories, giving the system a bit of flexibility for different source materials and settings.

Remote adjustments are enabled thanks to RS-232C and Ethernet connections, and the DLA-RS4000 can even shoot you out an email when the lamp needs replacing. Jack Faiman, VP of JVC’s Visual Systems Division calls the DLA-RS4000 “The ultimate projector for discerning home theater enthusiasts. Not only does it produce amazing images for movies, sports, and video games,” he added “but its smaller footprint and incredible flexibility make it the ideal premium home theater projector for custom installations.”
