Default Help, D150 Upgrade lost IPAD remote control from the D100

Hi Guys, it took about 10 years, but, I finally upgraded my system again. My ancient Sony CD player gave up the ghost, so, I picked up a MCT450 and D150, and I moved my D100. After hooking everything up, I found that I lost the capability to switch songs on my IPAD with the C2300 and the DACs remote controls. On the D100, if you had the D/A data port hooked up on the C2300, you could control the songs on the IPAD with the C2300 remote and the D100 remote. Even the old D100 remote control will not change songs on the IPAD anymore through the D150. The D150 has the versions 1.02 loaded on it. Has anybody heard of this before ? Is there any solution? I loved sitting at the bar and automatically changing songs on the IPAD with my C2300 remote. Now, with the D150, no remote will change the songs on the IPAD. I guess, the D100 was somehow changing the songs through the USB connection. Now it's gone...

I would appreciate any insight. Thanks in advance. In the meantime, Here is a pic of the "new to me" pieces.

While some here can and will help you with this, If possible, you could call McIntosh and speak with them.

They will help you.

Sounds like a setup/config ‘thing’.

Simple advice, and very effective. Thanks !
They answered the phone immediately ! I talked to both Jordan and Chuck. Here is the scoop for everyone.

The D100 uses the Burr-Brown Stereo 24bit 192khz DAC chip
The D150 uses the ESS Saber 8 channel 32 bit 384 khz DAC chip

The implementation is completely different. There is a licensing issue with two way control of Apple mobile devices through USB/lightning connections. Somehow the D100 just slid in under the timeframe of this issue. That is why you can control the IPAD songs with just the D100 and no other McIntosh DAC.

So, I am SOL on this, but, Chuck was telling me that he believes the D150 is a much better DAC than the D100, so, I am focusing on that. SACD and Hi Res files do sound fantastic on the D150, but, I never A/B against the D100.
