Tesla Roadster
If there was ever any doubt as to the superior performance of electric cars, this should put that debate to rest.
CEO Elon Musk reviewed the blistering specs — 0-60 mph in 1.9 seconds, top speed of over 250 mph, more than 600 miles on a charge from the Roadster's 200 kWh battery pack — but he was quick to note that the performance numbers are for the*base*version of the car, which will sell for about $200,000 and arrive in 2020. If a base Tesla new Roadster can break the two-second barrier, thereby becoming the fastest production car on the planet, a stripped-down car could go faster, chopping tenths of seconds off that time. At that point, the Roadster would be in the territory occupied by Formula One race cars. |

I am on a wait and see about Tesla. First they have yet to deliver on the Model 3. And they are finally about to face real competition from established manufacturers. Maybe that’s why there are many folks shorting the stock. Let’s wait and see...

No doubt the future. I will miss the sound of a combustion engine and the involvement of shifting gears. I will miss driving my own car as it will not be long before the cars drive themselves and will no doubt make the roads safer .

Not a big fan of Tesla. Very high expectations but little execution.
It's good that they're trying to innovat eand push the enveloppe but at the same time they are facing strong competition and are not equipped today. They cannot deliver the Model 3 on time, there is some big question mark on reliability and the level of finition is not on par with the price. They can surf on the name and the attraction of the name Tesla. I don't know if that's enough to make it in the long run. I certainly wouldn't give them a blank check for their kickstarter.... |

That's missing the point of why people buy the Chiron. Plus the Chiron is available now but that's not in the chart, is it?

A Bugatti customer will never cross-shop with a Tesla. That much is clear. The point here is that an electric car can dethrone what many consider one of the best examples of a supercar at a fraction of the price. The future is clear.
