Adagio - Mischa Maisky
Orchestre de Paris, Semyon Bychkov

Almost overly sweet pieces, but perfectly alright for my waiting room.

Default Heinichen: Dresden Concerti

Today I played one of my favorites...

Heinichen: Dresden Concerti
Musica Antiqua Köln, Reinhard Goebel

2 hours 15 minutes of most excellent Baroque tunes lavishly recorded by DG. Love this set.

Default Copland: Symphony No. 3

Friday morning tunes...

Copland: Symphony No. 3
Minnesota Orchestra, Eiji Oue

One of the more successful Oue/Minnesota Reference Recordings efforts in which the musical performance matches the spectacular sonics. A well-filled disc with over 72 minutes of music.

Default What Classical Music Are You Listening To Tonight?

Beethoven: Symphony No. 5; Symphony No. 7
Pittsburgh Symphony, Manfred Honeck
Reference Recordings (2015)
24/96 files

I first saw this from Carlos. As he pointed out, it’s a fine recording and brisk performance. I’m listening with headphones with the volume up, and tapping my feet to the 5th.

Discs 2 & 3 of an excellent Collectors Edition box set from DG. New music to me except for #5.

The recorded sound is very fine.
I very much enjoy this set as well as Harnoncourt's with the RCO.

BTW, have you yet received and posted a review of Faust's Mozart Concertos? I value your opinion and am holding off on ordering until reading it.

Thanks for your kind comments. I just ordered the Mozart set this week. It's on sale at Presto CLassical for only $12.77 so I figured I can't go wrong with it. I should have it in early November and will post my impressions as soon as I hear it.
