I did not see Don's comment on the bass. Does not align with my experience. Indeed, I noticed improvement in the bottom end after installing the BM CX and CX HC in my system.

Congrats Kev, I spoke with Cameron this morning about a Cyclops and he said someone up the valley had gone Cobra as well... took a punt it might be you... great to see.

Don - I found the BMs the same as Stephen and Mike - bass fundamentals are solid with the powersnakes. I'd figure the benefit of the HC version of the Mamba is about current delivery and immediate dynamics rather than a shift in the tonal balance - but only an assumption on that one.

Really good point, I forgot about the Hydra HC. So, if one is going to pop for a Zitron Cobra, it should be for a component. The Hydra HC incorporates Gabriel's new VTX technology, so it should be quite good.

+1. I was told the same thing today by the dealer. It seems that many are going for the Hydra HC to feed their Hydra boxes & Zitron combinations for components with Python & Anaconda being the most populate choices.

I have my hand in for eval product to try when it arrives...

Since your numbers tend to work in a very different scale to the usual numbers... I'd hazard to guess what a big order is Ivan ... I'm sure Shunyata will like it whatever it is.

Thanks for the heads up on the Shunyata information Spephen So after reading and thinking about things I'm leaning in the direction:

I currently have the Black Mamba CX 15 amp cable as well as the Pyhon Helix Alpha 20 amp feeding the Hydra 8. So I'm thinking the Cobra Zitron 20amp and the Shunyata 20 amp to 15 amp adapter might be a good idea so I could move cables around, maybe I should also get both adapters ( 20 to 15 & 15 to 20)? Then I could play musical Snakes with all three Anyone have experience with the Shunyata adapters?

Funny you should ask as I just bought and installed one last week when I constructed my 3.5 meter long Venom3 cable consisting of a 2M Venom3 extension cord plus "regular" Venom3 standard 5 ft 15 amp power cable. I used a 15 amp to 20 amp Shunyata adapter so that I can power my Hydra 4 with my Venom3 "extender cable" as the Venom3 is rated for 20 amps. The adapter works fine, but it's a little long, so when you connect a power cord to it, the adapter and power cord stick out a ways from the back of the Hydra. Be sure you have clearance for the more massive BM or Python Helix if you use them with an adapter. Also the adapter may tug downwards on the adapter a bit as those cords are pretty thick and heavy as you know. I think the adapter is better suited when used with a molded cord like the Venom3 or Diamondback Platinum. It's also $150, which is pretty spendy for an adapter. Shunyata used to make the Venom3 as a 20 amp version, but it appears they no longer do. Too bad, as I would have preferred that to having to buy and use an adapter.

For "bang for the buck": If you can swing it (or imperatively, find a way to make it happen), Zitron Python or Anaconda to get from wall to Hydra/Triton, Cobra on amps. Then a Zitron Cobra or other Zitron signal cable from amps to speakers. More expensive, yes, but also greater benefit for the dollar, imo. The ancillary technologies are all to good end but its the Zitron technology that tells the tale; that's where the real breakthrough in reduced distortion is happening.
Agreed. I have to say that I am impressed with Shunyata's consistent R&D and true innovation. For those interested, you can find the patent applications for the new Zitron design.
