Post Shunyata Hydra Triton & Hydra Talos

I've decided to go with Shunyata Research Power Distribution Technologies. The Hydra Triton & Hydra Talos are great new products & have been highly recommended. There has been considerable uptake by the AV industry here in Australia. Their unique passive technology does not degrade or distort the incoming mains supply or limit/bottle-neck the current draw as do other conventional active designs on the market.

Had the TALOS for close to 3 weeks. Its distributing power to my 808.3 CD Pre, 800v4 Ref DVD Audio/Video, Sooloos C15, Twinstore, Dr. Feickert Twin TT, Lehmann BC Decade SE. Great piece of gear. If I had the cabinet space, would go for the TRITON. Still, its good.

Great to hear! I am going for 2 Talos units for the same reason. Rack constraints. They will actually be on pads under each of my racks. I understand that the only difference is 4x2 outlets as opposed to 3x2.

Certainly Gaucho. I now have 2 x Hydra Talos in the mix. Each sit on 10mm polished granite under my racks. Most pleased with the choice. Hard to describe the notable improvement, but I'll try with the following: There appears to be more punch to the music, the soundstage is bigger & deeper. Also with centralized power distribution say at the bottom of your rack, power runs to components are much neater & manageable.

I received my Triton a week ago. I'm very pleased with the high S/N ratio the system gets on both the video side and the audio side on my source components.

Will hopefully work towards getting a Talos on my DLP projector and powered surroundspeakers.

I'm upgrading from Hydra 8 MK I and Hydra 6.

I wanted to provide some additional information on the Shunyata Triton. I upgraded from the V-Ray a couple weeks ago, and I must say that I'm glad I did. My dealer gave me a very fair trade in for the upgrade and the Triton has made a remarkable improvement in my bass and "upper bass" resoluton. The background is blacker and the music flows effortlessly.

I was not sure what to expect since I have a tube system whicj is already very smooth, but the Triton provided better resolution thereby making vocals more "real."

Highly Recomended with 20A Anaconda power cable, though not inexpensive.

Hope this helps?

System includes: Shindo GM-70 Monoblocks, Shindo Giscours preamp, Lampizator Level 4 DAC, Nain CD Burnner, Shunyata Triton and Shunyata Power Cords (DAC to Triton and Triton to Wall Only), Shindo Silver Interconnects, Kubala Sosna Elation Speaker Cables.

I recently picked up a hydra 8 v2 second hand and havent used it as yet as am waiting on a couple of power chords to arrive.
The triton has also caught my eye and was wondering if anyone has done any direct comparisons between the 2
