HTSteve, I really like what the PowerIsolator 8, the 2 PowerIsolator MMs & the PowerLink Premiums did for my system. Revelatory. I'm sure the Ref XLMM2 cabling played a significant role too.

Hello
my system
Pass Labs Xa100.8
MSB Analog DAC with Analog Power Base
MSB universal Transport V with dual signature power base
Transparent Audio ref with mm2 interconnect , speaker cable and reference power cables ,
Wilson Audio Sasha speakers

i think i need a power conditioner or 2 or 4.

Pass Labs insist i plug the amp direct to the wall.

What conditioner do i use?
I was also hoping to see feedback on Shunyata vs TA.

i too imagine TA power conditioner would synergise best with my system.

BTW i tried many brands before and after settling for TA.
I still like the TA sound.

Nice system. I'm not sure you could go wrong with either brand. They're both noted for superlative products. I believe it's just a matter of preference. I settled on TA, but we have a number of equally happy Shunyata users. If you like the TA sound and even have TA cabling, I'm inclined to recommend TA for, as you mention, synergy.

Beyond my expertise, as I've never owned Pass. However, there is a nice collection of loyal Pass Lab owners here. I'm sure you'll get the info and insight that you need.

I think it's best not to mix n match brand on conditioners and cords. They are usually built as a system. So if you're going to use brand x cord then stick with that brand on the conditioner.

I now have 2 Transparent Opus Power cords. Both going right to the wall (for amp and pre).

All my sources are plugged into a Shunyata Tritonv2/DPC-6v2/Typhon with Sigma or Anaconda Zitron cords.

Alfa: As far as why pass labs says go right to the wall, i suspect it minimizes current loss. Every connection adds resistance. I've always liked my amps to the wall...

Speakers: Rockport Altair 2
Preamp: Robert Koda K10 w/ Transparent Opus Power Cord
Amp: Nagra Classic Amp w/ Transparent Opus Power Cord
Cables: Transparent Opus Gen 5 & Magnum Opus phono
Power Shunyata Triton v2/Typhon/DPC-6 v2, Anaconda Zitron cords (x4), Sigma HC & Analog (x4)
Digital dCS Vivaldi full stack w/ Transparent Reference XL Digital cables
Phono: Grand Prix Monaco TT, Spiral Groove Centroid, Jan Allaerts MC2 Finish, Nagra VPS/VFS/MPS
Racks: Grand Prix Audio Silverstone F1 (x3)

thank you .. jfrech. Do you find that Shunyata power cord is better on the components than Transparent Audio?

I think it depends. I will say the Opus power cord is very synergistic with the Transparent Opus signal cabling.

The Shunyata stuff is pretty darn good in it's own right. I think this is a very tough call and system matching/listener preferences will dictate.

I will get to try the new Transparent Opus Power Cord Source in about a week or 2. This one is designed for lower current draw things like preamps/dacs etc. The 2 Opus power cords I have are their high current models...
