Default Downsizing

Where do I go from Sasha’s? Looking to downsize and pay 9-10K for new or used speakers. I don’t have the time to justify keeping the Sasha’s, but want something that’s good when I do have time to listen. My main concern is finding speakers that will work in my 20’ x 26’ room.

Sophias would be the natural choice.

So you are looking to free up some cash? Sell Sasha at a loss (currently trading between $18k and $19k) and buy speakers in the $10k range "new" that will be worth $6k the moment you bring them home? ... Buy a used pair and you have many choices that will work in a 20x26 room. For $9-10k you should be able to pick up a pair of Sonus Faber Elipsas, a speaker that would work great in your room. (I've owned a pair of Elipsas and still have Sashas although my room is 16x26). Sophias or Watt Puppy 8s perhaps if you want to stay with Wilson.

PHC1,
You make a good point and my wife keeps telling me not to sell them. Sometimes I think out loud and wanted to hear other opinions before I make the move. My fear is I'll really miss the Sasha's and want them back; ultimately being in a worse situation.

That's a big room and I agree with PCH1, if you were downsizing to something really small, like $4k-$5k then it might be justifiable, but selling a $40k speaker, getting a $10k speaker and ending up with $6k in your pocket doesn't seem like a great idea.

I guess the Duette's would be too small for your room?

Unless you really need the cash and it doesn't sound like that is your goal, keep the Sasha's! Yes, you will miss them!

It's what keeps the economy and audio dealers going. You'll sell, buy, sell and buy once again when you miss what you already had!
