Default QB9 Win10 driver

Anyone know where to get a windows 10 compatible driver for the QB9? For some reason, the Thesycon 1.26 driver linked on the websites, started crashing my computer hard. So its been uninstalled. So, now Im looking for a modern driver.

For Windows 10, you need to install the driver using 'Compatibility Mode'. Just do a search for the instructions. Works fine after that.

It really should just work. I would do a clean reinstall of Windows 10.

I wonder if perhaps Windows Update installed a patch that caused an issue for you? I would uninstall the driver (which it looks like you already did) then attach the DAC to your computer and make sure it shows up as an unknown device. If it doesnt (meaning it does detect the QB9) then delete it from within Device Manager and make sure you tell Windows to remove to driver as well as the device.

Once thats done, I would unplug the DAC from the computer, then restart the computer and install the driver in compatibility mode, etc., and see if it now works without the BSOD.

I tried a loooot of things. repairing, reinstalling (crash), uninstall, reinstall, uninstall again. In the end what worked was to put all .exe files in the 1.26 folder to win 7 compatibility mode, and then selecting that folder as the driver folder for the ayre in the device manager.

Jebus. But Im now a happy camper again. Now I just need some more base in these lcd3s

It's a great community for Ayre fans over here. Everyone seems helpful and loves their music. Sky, eventually you'll be a QX5 user ....lol...j/k. You have a great sounding DAC, even by todays standards. the QX is the only other under 9k DAC that is much better. I do like the Codex better though. I know some may say not quite, but I've heard both so many times and in my system the Codex won out for a variety of reasons. Both to me, are best buys in audio.
