Is there an AA approved version of this power supply?

strymon.net/products/ojai-r30/ I have a noisy wall wart, or so I think I do. After reducing and troubleshooting noise I have some noise coming from my cablebox (without the coaxial cable even connected, just powered on and HDMI connected). It's not loud (only audible when I hit pause) but I'd like to kill the noise where I can. I am filtering the cable box power with an Isotek, my sales rep thinks the cheap power supply itself is making some noise, or maybe I need to buy my own cablebox like a tivo instead of renting one from my cable co. It would also be great to eliminate wall warts taking up space on my isotek. I have 2 of 5v and 1 of 9v wall warts. I ordered an IFI wall wart for around $50 to test and I'm waiting for it to come in. They seem to review well for low noise, poorly for longevity. Last edited by jdandy; 12-19-2017 at 02:21 AM. What you’re asking for is a linear power supply versus a switching power supply. Linear power supplies are usually much quieter than switching power supplies.
The first thing you need to look at is the specifications of your existing wall warts (voltage, polarity, and output power) and find a suitable replacement. It’s really hard to say whether or not replacing one or all of them will solve your noise issues, but you can systematically eliminate each wall wart, one-by-one until you find the noisy culprit. |

I've had a couple of the iFi's in service for almost 2 years and they are still working fine. For linear power supplies unless you want to pay the price for Sbooster, Kenneth Lau and others you can order on Ebay from Swagman Labs, TeraDak, and others. They are all made in the same place minus the price mark up. I feel sure the two dealers will advise you to do something different so you pick.

I use the Wyred 4 Sound PS-1. It allows you to add up to 4 power modules and is built like a tank.
