Krell 600's or Burmester 911 MKIII's
I am new to this forum and was initially drawn doing a search for Vivid Audio Giya G2's. I have been active in Barts Vivid thread.
In short, I will be receiving Vivid Giya G2's within the next 2 months and I am planning my amp strategy. I currently have Krell EVO 600 Monos which I initially plan to use with the Giya's. As I am thinking through my "System" road-map choices I have started focusing on the best amps to drive the G2's. Again I know a lot of this is preference and subjective but is there anyone here that has experience with Burmester 911 MKIII's driving Giya's or any other Vivid Audio speaker? I know Bart is using Burmesters so I am expanding the search in this forum. I currently own the Krell EVO 600 monoblocks but extensive reading of this forum seems to point to the following amps: 1. Burmester 911 MKIII in Mono 2. D'Agostino Momentum Monos Any insight into my above mentioned amps (911, 600's, Momentum)? Have you heard the G2s with any of the mentioned? I might love how the Krells sound with the G2's and be a happy camper, but if others have insight or recommendations otherwise I am all ears. Mike |

Hi Mike,
Good luck with your choice. I am getting the 911 monos. Based on my experience with a stereo 911, I get a full bodied, weighty and slightly warmer than neutral sound that I love. I have not heard the Krells or D'ag amps and look forward to your impressions on what you choose. |

I like the latest sound of Krell EVO amps and It's nice to know your impressions especially with superb amps like the 911's monos.

Mike, can't help you out as I am only familiar with the 911 out of that group, but hopefully you will be able to audition and I too look forward to your findings!

Guys-
Thx for taking the time to read and respond. In general, it looks like this is a pretty small niche of speaker/amp combination. I will definitely provide my feedback once my speakers arrive and I start to demo equipment. I suspect the Krell's EVO's will sound very good and it will be a case of "you don't know what you don't know" until I try some other options in my room. I also have an option to upgrade to the Krell EVO One Monos. I think that is where the D'Agastino Momentum comparison would come into play as well because I have heard the Momentums sound better than the EVO One's. Thx again guys for your insight and warm welcome. Mike |

Welcome to AA Mike!
The Giyas are pretty neutral speakers. I think the Krell's would make a nice match. The 911 and Agostino amps are also fantastic. I would just stay put with the Krell's until the speakers are broken in. Then see if your local dealer will let you do some home auditions with the contender amps - assuming these are avail in your area. Mike

Yep. We are all on the same page. As noted, getting demos in house is always the challenge... I have a few dealers within 2-3 hours that I can work with on this front so it will just be a matter of investing the time and forging those relationships.
I have been very happy with Krell 600's so I have no initial concerns. I am sure the Giya's will sound great with most amps. |
