Is anybody aware whether the Inspire KT-88 in Triode mode and large chassis / Trannies can feasibly be bridged to mono without SQ losses? If so, would this potential bridging be a technically challenging task? Would the aggregated power be about double the stereo configuration?

I would consider a mono-block setup by ordering a mono version of my current amp from Dennis while adapting my unit to mono. The objectives would be tangible SPL and "oomph" increases, without SQ tradeoffs. Thanks for any orientation.

Default PSE Mono Blocks

Picked up the chassis's this morning, I'll stuff them and take them to the shop so Dennis can work his magic, then I will duplicate them on a pair of chassis's with finalized layout's...

The powder coat is called Black Hammer T013-BK62......straitwire

0A2's would look sweet with EL84's on a slightly larger chassis with 4 tubes per
channel in a mono block layout. Glowing like a little candelabra!
I'm sure I have a bunch of 7 pin sockets. I'm swinging by the shop tomorrow afternoon to drop off my 71-A amp for Dennis to play with. I'll bring some 7 pin sockets along as well...

I would have to check with Dennis on the details, but we did build two stereo amps for someone who ran them as mono blocks using splitter interconnects and then connecting the speaker cables to the binding posts in a way that made the output transformers parallel, I think that's how it worked...

Cool hammered finish. Sure does hide the fingerprints and micro scratches.

Are these PSE monoblocks? Just a guess.

That makes sense if one considers doing this without internal (bridging) changes in the circuit, although I did not know this was possible.

So, other than splitting the Preamp's interconnects (no-brainer), you mean feeding the speaker cables crossed: First amp's speaker right output to the first speaker's right input and that amp's left speaker output to the 2nd speaker's left speaker input (so as to use the entire output of that amp into a virtual single speaker); and then do the opposite with the 2nd amp (Right speaker output from 2nd amp into 2nd Speaker's Right input, and Left speaker output on that 2nd amp to the First speaker's Left input).

Interesting concept (and much simpler than internal bridging, probably also less prone to SQ losses) ... Could you kindly confirm this with Dennis? Thanks!

This from Dennis:
The way to turn an Inspire stereo amp into a mono...simply parallel the inputs with a "Y" connector, and parallel the speaker outputs, Red to Red as one and Black to Black as one.
This will double the output power.
Keep in mind this is not to be confused with "bridge amplifier"

Yes, these are the prototype PSE mono blocks.
The powder coater said the same thing about it showing less fingerprints
and light scratches as well as catching the light from the tubes.
He says it's a very popular finish.
