Anthony,

That's a great tip. I'll give it a try if (of course when - who am I kidding?) I add additional SEs.

Thanks,
Bob

I noticed an improvement between WW Electra's and WW Silver Electra's. I put my Electra' in my HT system and replaced all of my 2 Channel PC's with the Silver Electra's. I even replaced 1 meter Silver Electra's with 2 meter Silver Electra's to my amps and noticed an improvement. I wouldn't have made the change if I didn't hear an improvement.

You replaced 1 meter SE with @ meter SE to your amps and noticed an improvement? Interesting…

George, since I had 2 meter SE's from my subs, I thought I would try the switch from 1m to 2m. I did notice an improvement. My wife did also and she didn't know what switch I was making. Must be more power conditioning.

The WW power cables are a capacitive design, so a longer length provides additional capacitance and therefore more filtering by its nature. This likely accounts for the difference and improvement you heard.

How would you describe the difference between the Electra and the Silver Electra? Would you say one is brighter than the other?

I have spoken to guys at Nordost and Wireworld who both said that generally power cords are better the longer they are because of what you describe. In fact, the Nordost guy said 3-4 meters is the optimal length for its power cords.

Oh great, now longer cords are better than short... Now that is something I would prefer not to know. I'm trying to avoid coils of wires.... And crossing cables at right angles. I've got to stop reading at forums.

It has been stated in the past by Ivan that the optimum length for Wireworld power cables is two meters, this according to David Salz of Wireworld.

Hi;

I have a question about the 2 meter WireWorld length then, if 2 meters is optimal then what is it about lengths both less and more then 2 meters that makes them deficient in comparison to 2 meters?
