I had mine between the speakers then wised up and moved them off to one side. It's a walk to change albums but digital works great with Roon and an ipad "remote control".

I also have my equipment rack on the side mainly for sound purposes, but I'll add that for a room without a TV as the central focal point, I think it makes for a visually cleaner space as well.

Because Jim Smith (Get Better Sound) suggested that in his book.

It is the same reason you don’t want a coffee table with a hard top surface between you and your speakers.

My rack is also on the side wall just to my left, easy access when it’s time to flip the album over.

Good looking system.

In my case the rooms I've used over the years have dictated that I keep the gear between the speakers. So I keep the rack as low as possible. My floorstanders do their imaging well above the rack so it doesn't interfere.

Thanks for all the responses. When the room is finished I’ll start with the equipment rack on the side wall with the amps between the speakers.

I just finalized the floor plans. My dedicated room will be 16 feet (L) x 13 feet 10 inches (W) x 8 feet (H). At the end of the 16 feet will have a wall with storage space behind it. It slopes down steadily so not much of full height. It will be used mostly for storage. (All my equipment boxes) The speakers will most likely be on that wall.

I'm contemplating having the amps on the floor (amp stand) between the speakers with the rest of my equipment in the storage space with cutouts on the wall with the front/face of the equipment showing. Just not sure where to place the turntable yet.

All feedback welcome!
