So what am I looking at here? I can see it's an Avenger, but is it a Direct Drive Avenger? If so, is it out to market yet? Or prototype?

This is a current production model. Rather than using a belt drive with a stand alone motor you will be going with a direct drive motor. I haven't had the pleasure of hearing one but by everyone's account who have compared the Vanquish (DD Avenger) to the Titan or Avenger Reference they have preferred the Vanquish.

Retail is around 40K

Agree, the extra 30k over the base Avenger is a steep price. But, I haven't heard it. Without an unlimited equipment budget I couldn't imagine comparing the two and walking away feeling the need to go up there. But for the people that have that budget...

The Titan looks like a very capable table. Found this review that I thought was insightful.
