Josh Groban & Idina Menzel
Wednesday night Linda and I attended Josh Groban's concert with Idina Menzel opening for the first hour. I would have preferred seeing him at the Fox Theater where he has played in the past. Apparently he can sell out arenas now so they moved him over to the Little Ceaser's Arena. I thought that the sound was a bit loud and the bass a bit overcooked which was a bit much for his voice on the uptempo songs.
We have been to a lot of concerts over the years and Linda said this is now her favorite. Besides having a nice voice he is very casual and funny onstage. His latest album "Bridges" has some excellent tracks on it. For each ticket we purchased they sent a copy of the disc to our house when it was released. Idina Menzel was no slouch either. You don't get too many opening acts that have such a elaborate set-up and get a full hour to sing. |
