Default SACD's in Japan

My son is studying in Tokyo and my wife and I will be going to see him. I have several SACDs from Japan that I enjoy.
Are there easily accessible music stores? He mentioned Akihabra. Are the titles cheaper there? Any suggestions for stores in either Tokyo or Kyoto?
Thanks.

HMV was ubiquitous when I was there about 7 years ago.
Unless they have downsized significantly, you should be able to run across an HMV pretty easily. The stores I went in were large and well stocked.

Also, look up Disk Union. Different Disk Union locations used to specialize in particular genres so it may be worth some investigation, as well. Disk Union is much, much smaller, but has a "deeper" selection of certain kinds of music.

I'm not sure if Tower still has a location in Tokyo. They had a location when I was there and that was great, too.

There are lots of independent stores that may or may not be worthwhile to seek out. Many specialize in used vinyl and cd's, so if that's not a priority, HMV and Disk Union might be your best bet, along with Tower, if it still exists.

Don't forget to go to a department store to salivate in the electronics section! The selection of gear in department stores that didn't even specialize in audio gear was staggering.

Christian,
Thanks for the input. Thank you for the input. I do not have vinyl, so CD's and SACD's are really what I am after. I was going to round out my collection of The Police, but I will wait a few months and see how the selection is. I favor a lot of 80's alternative music, but most of it is so poorly mastered, it becomes unlistenable on my current system. Moving towards more jazz and blues. Trying to get my arms around classical is difficult. I love the music, just the different variations are a little much for me, but improving.
I will definitely check out your suggestions. So, I can get a new tie, some underwear and a new Accuphase? Cool. Looking forward to it.

Have you tried Amazon Japan. You can link to it from the bottom of the US site. I just entered SACD into the search bar and quite a few came up. It won't be easy to understand many of them.

HMW in Japan, CDJapan, Amazon Japan as noted there are other stores in Akhibara. Also on eBay, 2 sellers that I have great experiences with for years, 'internationalrecords' out of Hong Kong and 'ftfym65' and 'neco_kick' have been known to regularly offer Japan-on pressings on CD, XRCD(all), K2HD and SACD. Many things not available elsewhere.
