Thanks it's a modest family business in my more than not retired status though with software and HDWE well and over the top for a medaia /browserplayer player or any ODD player otherwise all that wouldent be here if it weren't a necessity.

I'm just the principal irratant, investor /owner and digital/analog fixer. I don't do the creative or day to day work in there but I can run everything outside of the syths K.B.'s and drum machines . I can noise shape/bit shape mixes to a cerain level of prosumer profficiancy the commercial stuff is left to the daily folks in there mostly one family member .

As a bonus (and why it's on this PC ) you can have all the software authorized on 3 PC's but no more than that without additional licence seats .

OTOH each VST emulator bundle and separate program and sometimes *each* plugin within a bundle or singly has to be digitally autorized by the publisheer with *that PC * and or dongle before you can open it and use it and when you update it or change OS or hdd and someimes HDWE .

All that authorization *can be big a pita * it's well beyond entering a product key and likley beyond what the avarage enthusiasts would want by a country mile .

That being said having more than a passing knowlege with digital I'm not buying any sound improvemt from Meridian/Roon ,
J River or any of that above what can be done with any decent software player ,VST emulator ,EQ or DSP GUI .

I like peeking under the hood in depth of digital stuff for the last 25+ years and once you undertand it you can discount a lot of marketing for what it is

At a certain point *digital is digital and either there or not and nothing in between* it's not fragile like analog it's more on or off simple than not as it applies here .

ofc setting all that aside the legitamate value of Meridian Roon may lay outside of the sound quality .

OTOH AFAIK DSD Playback in general is not recieving any validation in the scientific community as being advanageous from accredited sources . I think the jury is still out on MQA .

IMO shared by others who would know DSD is old news being re hashed for $$ just like expensive OFC coax and USB cables that carry error checked ones and zeros no better than any inexpenisve functioning ETF copper RG45 or RG75 or decent USB cable you can connect to a TV or STB or PC etc. but they sell all that stuff in the pricy cables all day to the illitterari they can convince otherwise .

If ETF coax can carry R.F. ATSC terrestial TV ,250 -500 channels of digital video and IP + VOIP service on top of that
anything related to digital discrete time signals for music is childs play for any ETF coax within the earths atmosphere .

You learn a lot about signals and cables with a gen class FCC study and exams (some) as it applies here and they don't take marketing spin or wrong answers to kindly .Ofc all of our opinions can vary for any number of reasons .

Some of the analog gear and installations downsteam from the digital domain here is fabulous as is its presentation here and likey to sound good on just about anthing above mp3 and probaly good on some of that to and ofc cousre would be expected to have good cabling in general .

TBH anthing squashed already or at 16/44 is a well cooked bird and anything beyond very conservative EQ is detrimental more often than not. They haven't re invented the wheel yet with any of this on this page or in hires.

Again that being said the Meridian Roon product is probably a very nice useful premuim one stop solution for a lot of things .

I might (likley will ) sample MQA in one form or another because Bob Stewart is a pretty knowlegable , legitamatley accomlished individual well above my level of understanding in these subjects and not to be casually dimissed IMO
so much as some others of noteriety in the music industry .

I'm willing to entertain with an open mind the idea that MQA *may* suprise me you never know DSD not so much been there
in fact I hope MQA does just that .

I think MQA might be interesting because of who Bob Stewart is ,it's not implausable that he might have someting interesting there .

On the other stuff ofc all of our opinions will vary .

I've worked with digital for a good while at the prosumer audio video and progressivly Expert PC entusiast level in many forms since the early 1980's and still do .

My hobby background started with fixing 1930's tube radios nobody wanted in the mid 1960's ,TV's and everyting in between here and there and PC's since the early 1990's and using them since the early 1980's at work . and 3 yrs of electonics study and some radio TV bench work 40+ yrs ago and I can still diag most flat panel TVs at the board level and have a long time licenced radio hobby.

As a reult of all the above including study and experimentation my POV differs considerably with some of the audiophile opinions and POV.

OTOH enjoying the music as one prefers is the point of it all anyway .

Thanks for your comment about my ending comment .
