Default Meridian 808.3 Software Update

To those who owned the Meridian 808.3 CD/Preamp, please have your software upgrade from Rev 3.00 to Rev 3.11.

My local premium dealer did it for me when he paid a visit to my house, assessing if my current little listening space can accommodate the Tri-Field mode. Well, for the sake of selling me the following:

1. Meridian 861v6 Reference Digital Sound Controller/Preamp
2. HD621 HDMI Audio processor
3. And a single DSP7.2k HC (white color)

he had to do the home visit. In the end, its OK to have them. BUT he also had to face up to the new STINGY me, bargaining, negotiating all the time. He left with an offer I gave - for the weekend to ponder if he can meet my demand. If yes, he can sell the 3 items to me. If not, well, I can still live with what I have today - STEREO!

Ok, remember guys, update/upgrade your software.

Cheers!

Jerry,

I asked my dealer and he said that the software upgrade was only for the M6 speakers but it does nothing sonically. Can you confirm this?

Yup. Confirmed.

But still, you would need the upgrade as:

1. You may want M6 later in your bedroom?
2. Like all software upgrades, the 3.11 would be a necessity when upgrading to 3.12. You just can't leapfrog over revisions (I could be wrong altogether).

Bargain for a free upgrade service. You have the purchasing muscle to move your kind dealer.

Cheers!
