Yep. But every commercial airliner in the air today probably a few hundred on board.

Yep. I have probably 50 lbs of them for my radio control hobby in my basement but I sleep well at night.

Yes and No. Lithium is always going to be reactive. It's just the nature of Lithium.

Safe as long as they don't over heat, get punctured, over charged, under charged, get impact damage or shocked, get compressed or bent, etc etc.

Rumor has it, it took the firefighters quite some time to put the chemical fire out as some of the cells kept bursting and igniting over and over. Not easy to put out this kind of a chemical reaction.

Metal fires yay... Gas or diesel has nothing on a metal fire.
