Default New Aurender S10 Music Server

I bought a new Aurender music server about 30 days ago.
I've had enough time with it now to be able to answer any questions if anyone is curious.
I replaced an Olive 04HD.
I replaced it because I wanted something that looked more like a high end component.
The 2nd reason was to take a step up on sound and find something more on par with the rest of my system.
The 3rd reason was because I didn't like the way Olive changes the file names and file structures of music that is uploaded to the hard drives.

Not sure what you mean in point 3. When I owned the 4HD I saved all discs as WAV which should be bit for bit.

Still-One........What I was referring to was after you transfer your library to the Olive, they are no longer wav files. The Olive changes the name of the file on the actual Olive hard drive. If you were to do an actual backup to an external hard drive you, then look at the file names, they wouldn't be standard wav files anymore. Olive changes them to a proprietary format.
They are still bit for bit music files.
You just can't move them to another server and play them..
Hope I'm explaining that right

Since I don't waste time backing up anything it is a moot point. Are you sure that it is not the back-up function on the Olive that is changing the format and the files on the Olive drive are still WAV. I don't understand why they would allow multiple "save" options if they are actually saving each of them differently.

I'm pretty sure that it changes them on the actual Olive.
But I could be wrong.
I just wanted to be able to edit the files directly on the olive and be able to back up and replace my library on the computer.
This way I don't have redundant music files.
Sometimes when you listen to a poor recording it's just not worth keeping.
You don't always know until you hear it.

How does it sound? Does it destroy the Olive or for that matter any music server (including pc's) that you've owned or at least auditioned? I recently heard one at my dealers and it was pretty impressive but not in a direct comparison with other similar products they sell, the Olive and Bryston.

Dafos...When I 1st brought it home I hated it.
I was so close to returning it.
It took 2 weeks of constant break-in to get it to where I could stand it.
Now after 30 days, WOW!!!!
I really like it.
I really liked the olive but this is multiple steps up.
I don't look back any more and I'm completely satisfied.

MAC10

Just wondering what is the latest on the Aurender S110. I was looking at one last weekend to see if it handled DSD files. It sounds like there is an update coming to remedy this.

I was surprised to see that the unit does't include a DAC (not a major issue) so it just handles the music. The unit that was demo'd for me had some trouble syncing when I asked them to switch between different file resolutions. Have you found that to be an issue?

Still-one... Every once in a while it takes a few seconds to sync properly.
There are settings that can be changed to accommodate.
I have played with those settings a little and it doesn't always happen. It doesn't happen enough to bother me or work harder to get the settings perfect.
It will be real nice when they update for DSD.
It has taken a lot of the music that I have played in the olive and didn't like and made it sound nice.
Almost organic sounding.

Are you sending the output from the S10 to the DAC's in your MCD-1100??
