Excellent and well established brand Ivan. Of course, one of 2 I can think of that are the best. No sure my GD's deserve that caliber of an opener.

When my last garage door openers were installed, the safety reversing sensors a few inches off the floor would catch my pants legs as I passed by, and in the winter, if there was a bit of snow the doors wouldn't close properly, or worse, if you didn't watch it close, it might NOT close and later come home to an open garage door, so I relocated them to the ceiling, the electric eyes, inches apart, directly facing each other with the closing pressure set on MAXIMUM to ensure that the door ALWAYS closes!

My cousin noticed my unique sensor placement and renamed the fail-safe sensor, "the fail-dead." I have been very happy with the door's operation once these simple adjustments were made. No known primates have ever been harmed.

As an aside, I find it interesting that garage door motors rated as 1/2 or 1 HP have power requirements of only 200 watts. One REAL HP is 746 watts, so at least 900 watts should be necessary to run a one HP motor since these small electric motors are at most 80% efficient. It reminds me of the typical shop vacs that say 6 HP--REALLY??, that would require a 50 amp circuit, or the old days where a real 10 watt RMS amplifier could be rated at a few hundred watts.

I have nothing but positive comments about the Chamberlain Whisper Drive Plus (3/4 HP) I installed a few years ago... I like it much more than any other (Craftsman) operator I've owned/used - YMMV

Good opener -- I stopped by Lowes yesterday and took a Chaimberlain/Genie comparison chart that was available. I plan on comparing at Sears & if the Chamberlain/Genies openers offer a better deal, Lowes is 4 miles away.
