Default Adding a F113 to my system

I will be adding a F113 to my system and will be using a MEN 220 as a active crossover. The sub will only be used with my two channel setup to complement a pair of 802Ds. Any suggestions for a good starting point?
Thank ED

Good choice, the F113 subs are nice.

Ed.......When I was using my MEN220 as an active crossover my choice was the Linkwitz-Riley 4th order crossover with a crossover point of 38Hz. That will probably be a great starting point for your 802D's. Then just use the Master Gain on the f113 to feather the bottom until you are satisfied with the low frerquency integration. Don't forget to set the f113's crossover point above the MEN220's, perhaps around 80hz so there will be no conflict between the subwoofers built-in active crossover and the MEN220.

Thanks Dan
I'm really looking forward to adding this sub. Seems that folks are very happy with it. I have a nice SACD selected to try it out ( Tchaikovsky 1812 Cincinnati Pops Orchestra) Thank you for the starting point suggestions. I want to reduce the time needed setting it up so I can listen to the sub. I can adjust the crossover to the perfect? setting after the sub is broken in.
Thanks ED

Dan, I'm not disagreeing, but I have been told that if there are two crossovers in the circuit and one (the MEN220 in this case) is the primary and the other is essentially to be ignored (the one in the F113), there should be two octaves between the points not to interfere. By that logic, the crossover on the F113 should probably be around 150 Hz.

What do you think?

Gary.......I agree with you. That makes perfect sense when you take into account the crossover frequency slope. Thanks for the clarification.

An easy option is just to set the 'LP Filter' Switch on the F113 to OFF. That assumes you are using an external device (MEN220) to control the crossover point.

Hey,,, that F113 cost a few $$$ so it needs and deserves to have a complex setup
