Default ? Get the Shunyata Hydra Triton/Typhon or Synergistic PC 3

HI,

I read the thread:

shunyata Triton vs. the rest

Am thinking of getting the Shunyata Hydra Triton/Typhon or upgrading from my Synergistic Research Powercell 1 to their 3. I like the SR Powercell 1 that I own and when compared to the PS Audio P10, my SR was much more revealing of depth, soundstage and dynamics; the P10 sounded constricted.

I can't audition either the SR 3 or the Shunyata combo so it's a blind buy.

Any one listen to both?

Thanks.

Not both, but my Triton/Typhon will NEVER leave my system. Clean sound, uncovering details left and right, it's a keeper for me.

Just curious, what components do you plug into the p10 and SR1? Both amps and front end?

The Shunyata Triton/Talos/Typhon/Cyclops are additive with no drawbacks. I use 1 triton for frontend and 1 triton for 3 powered front speakers. 1 talos for projector, surround speakers and computer.

I think Zitron Anaconda is such a perfect fit for wall to hydra's. Make the umbilical to the Typhon of the same quality.

Hi Mike,

Just to throw one more into the mix, I'd also recommend checking out the Audience aR6-TSS with Au24SE power cord. I've had mine for several months and the improvement to my system was equivalent to a component upgrade. I was amazed by the increased smoothness of the midrange and treble as well as the reduction in the noise floor. I feel this unit offers tremendous performance at its price point and it has totally surpassed my expectations.

Best,
Ken
